7:30 PM: Suzan Rudnicki called the meeting to order.
MINUTES: John Luce made a motion to accept the minutes of September 24, 2018 as written. Jared Fitts seconded. Five voted in favor.
TOWN MGR/TAX COLLECTOR/CODE ENF OFFICER/RD COMM. REPORT:
- The Town Manager said at least two businesses in town need an automobile recycler’s permit from the town in order to get a permit from the State. Kevin recommended Selectmen schedule October 22 at 7:00 pm as the date of a hearing for junkyard and recycling permits. John Luce made a motion to schedule the junkyard and recycling permit hearing for October 22, 2018 at 7:00 pm. Doug Small seconded. Five voted in favor.
- Kevin gave an update on the Planning Board and said they have approved a nine-lot subdivision for Scott Pelletier.
- There was discussion about Craig Babcock’s request to the Fire Department to burn down his house on Old State Road. Kevin said there will be seven fire departments on hand, and they will use it for training purposes.
- Kevin stated we have an option to pay a contractor to do the roadside mowing once a year on State roads and the State would reimburse us. After discussion, John Luce made a motion to take on the roadside mowing for Routes 2 and 69 once a year. Jared Fitts seconded. Five voted in favor.
NEW BUSINESS:
Winter Snowplowing Contract: Kevin stated he had spoken with Bobby Noyes, and Bobby is willing to renew his snowplowing and sanding contract with a $6,000.00 increase. John Luce made a motion to go with R&R Lumber Co. for plowing and sanding. Douglas Small seconded. Five voted in favor.
Old Fire Station: Kevin said he would like to use the old fire station for town storage, and would like to look into what it would need for repairs and get estimates over the next couple of months. Selectmen had no objections.
Banners on CMP Poles: Kevin said he would like to put holiday banners on the CMP poles, and showed Selectmen pictures of proposed designs. The matter was tabled for the Town Manager to get more information.
WARRANT: John Luce made a motion to accept the payroll warrant of October 1, 2018 in the amount of $5,030.00. Doug Small seconded. Five voted in favor.
WARRANT: John Luce made a motion to accept the accounts payable warrant of October 1, 2018 in the amount of $193,981.60. Doug Small seconded. Five voted in favor.
ADJOURNMENT: Suzan Rudnicki made a motion to adjourn. Josh Devlin seconded. Five voted in favor. Meeting adjourned at 8:12 pm.
