7:30 PM: Suzan Rudnicki called the meeting to order.
MINUTES: John Luce made a motion to accept the minutes of August 27, 2018 as written. Jared Fitts seconded. Three voted in favor. Suzan Rudnicki abstained as she was not present for that meeting.
TOWN MGR/TAX COLLECTOR/CODE ENF OFFICER/RD COMM. REPORT:
- The Town Manager and Selectmen went over the items in this week’s packet including the monthly Fire & Rescue and ambulance billing reports. Kevin Howell stated August was the busiest month of record as far as they know. Adding towns to the region added significant call volume.
- Kevin let the Board know the current Fire Department roster is also in their packet.
NEW BUSINESS:
2018-2019 GA Ordinance: John Luce made a motion to set September 24, 2018 as the date for the public hearing to adopt the changes to the General Assistance Ordinance. Jared Fitts seconded. Four voted in favor.
Preble Lane Update: Kevin Howell stated Preble Lane is all done, and the school bus turnaround came out really well.
Town Landing Update: Kevin let the Board know that R&R Lumber will start stumping this week or next week at the town landing site. There was discussion about naming/dedicating the landing. The Selectmen suggested waiting until next spring for the grand opening.
Maine Municipal Voting Delegate: Jared Fitts made a motion to delegate Kevin Howell as a
voting official at the Maine Municipal annual business meeting. John Luce seconded. Four voted in favor.
Ruggles Cemetery Sign and North Carmel Cemetery Fence: After discussion about whether to put up a new sign and/or fence at Ruggles Cemetery and whether to put up a fence at North Carmel Cemetery, it was decided the Town Manager will get more information.
WARRANT: John Luce made a motion to accept the payroll warrant of September 4, 2018 in the amount of $5,087.92. Jared Fitts seconded. Four voted in favor.
WARRANT: John Luce made a motion to accept the payroll warrant of September 10, 2018 in the amount of $8,634.13. Jared Fitts seconded. Four voted in favor.
WARRANT: John Luce made a motion to accept the accounts payable warrant of September 10, 2018 in the amount of $57,140.63. Jared Fitts seconded. Four voted in favor.
EXECUTIVE SESSION: Sue Rudnicki made a motion to go into executive session pursuant to 1MRSA § 405(6) (A) to discuss a personnel matter. John Luce seconded. Four voted in favor. Selectmen went into executive session at 8:04 pm. Selectmen reconvened in regular session at 8:19 pm. No action taken, informational only.
