NEW BUSINESS:

Fire Truck Damages:  Selectmen asked the outcome of the issues with personnel who were involved in the fire truck accident.  Fire Chief Mike Azevedo explained the driver has been driving trucks since 1987, now works for Maine Department of Transportation and has a Class A license.  Mike stated if he had not been an experienced driver he probably wouldn’t have been able to keep the truck upright, and the accident could have been much worse.  The individual who didn’t have her seatbelt on has been suspended for two weeks.  No one has given Mike a time frame yet as to when they will know what repairs are needed.

Mike stated the insurance adjuster has been to look at the truck (which is at Northeast Emergency Apparatus in Auburn), has been discussing repair costs with Northeast and is waiting to see what it will cost to fix it.  Mike told the Board the Town of Hermon has an engine we can borrow once their lead engine is fixed.

Fire Department Updates:  The Fire Chief gave the Board an update on what is going on with the Fire Department as far as training and testing requirements, and said there are seatbelt safety and driver training courses coming up soon.

Mike stated full-time EMT/Fireman Steve Cummings is doing a tremendous job and has already started pre-planning.  Mike said he has asked him to come to a Selectmen’s meeting to meet the Selectmen.
