Regular Meeting (04-26-2021)

Selectmen Present:                Suzan Rudnick, Douglas Small, Jared Fitts, Isaac Raymond and Daniel Frye

Town Manager/CEO:           Kevin Howell

7:30 PM:  Suzan Rudnicki called the Selectmen’s meeting to order.

MINUTES:  Jared Fitts made a motion to accept the minutes of April 12, 2021 as written.  Daniel Frye seconded.  Five voted in favor.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

 

Open Bids for Garage Roof:  Selectmen received the following bids for the garage roof and siding project:

After discussion, Jared Fitts made a motion to go with Cyr Roofing for $5,800.00. 

Daniel Frye seconded.  Five voted in favor.

 

Open Bids for Rec Storage Building:  Selectmen received one bid for the recreation field storage building from Ralph McNaughton Construction Inc. in the amount of $9,450.00 (labor only).  Jared Fitts made a motion to have Ralph McNaughton Construction Inc. build the recreation storage building for $9,450.00.  Daniel Frye seconded.  Five voted in favor.

 

Groundwork for Rec Storage Building:  Town Manager Kevin Howell stated he received the following estimates for the recreation storage building groundwork:  $1,700.00 from R&R Lumber Co., and $4,000.00 from Complete Property Solutions.  Jared Fitts made a motion to go with R&R Lumber Co. for the groundwork.  Isaac Raymond seconded.  Five voted in favor.

 

Slab for Rec Storage Building:  Kevin Howell let the Board know he received an estimate of $4,000.00 from Frost Foundations for the storage building slab.  After discussion, Jared Fitts made a motion to have Frost Foundations do the concrete work for the recreation storage building slab.  Isaac Raymond seconded.  Five voted in favor.

 

Rec Field Playground:  Kevin said the rec fields are in excellent shape this year, and asked Selectmen to consider upgrading the playground equipment as it is in very rough shape.  Once we come up with a design and estimated cost for what we want, we could put out a survey to see if residents are interested and do some fundraising.  Kevin said he had noticed a playground in Medway that would be a good example for us.  After discussion, Kevin said he would contact the Recreation Director in Medway to see what process they went through.

 

Cemetery Sign:  Doug Small said someone had brought to his attention that the sign at Highland Cemetery looks bad.  Kevin Howell said he would look into options for a new one.

 

WARRANT:  Isaac Raymond made a motion to accept the payroll warrant of April 20, 2021 in the amount of $5,681.55.  Daniel Frye seconded.  Five voted in favor.

WARRANT:  Isaac Raymond made a motion to accept the payroll warrant of April 26, 2021 in the amount of $5,982.66.  Daniel Frye seconded.  Five voted in favor.

WARRANT:  Isaac Raymond made a motion to accept the accounts payable warrant of April 26, 2021 in the amount of $26,009.97.  Daniel Frye seconded.  Five voted in favor.

 

ADJOURNMENT:  Sue Rudnicki made a motion to adjourn.  Dan Frye seconded. Five voted in favor.  Meeting adjourned at 8:17 pm.
