Regular Meeting (01-27-2020)

Selectmen Present:                Suzan Rudnicki, Douglas Small, John Luce, Jared Fitts and Isaac Raymond

Guests Present:                      Rec Director Deidra McIntosh, Deanna Witham, Glennis McSorley, Toby Pelletier and Fire Chief Ralph Shaw

7:30 PM:  Suzan Rudnicki called the meeting to order.

MINUTES:  Jared Fitts made a motion to accept the minutes of January 13, 2020 as written.  Douglas Small seconded.  Four voted in favor.  John Luce abstained as he was not present for that meeting.

 

OLD BUSINESS:

 

2020 Budget:  The Town Manager and Selectmen went over the proposed 2020 budget, which Kevin stated was unanimously approved by the Budget Committee at its last meeting.  After going over the budget, John Luce made a motion to approve the Town Manager’s 2020 budget as presented.  Doug Small seconded.  Five voted in favor.

 

Preliminary Auditor’s Report/General Fund Excess:  The Town Manager and Selectmen went over items in this week’s packet, including the auditor’s preliminary report.  Kevin said we have more in the general fund than is needed, and suggested adding an article to this year’s warrant that calls for $61,000.00 to reduce the tax commitment.  Doug Small made a motion to include the article to use $61,000.00 from the general fund to reduce this year’s tax commitment.  Jared Fitts seconded.  Five voted in favor.

 

Irish Road Culvert/Drainage:  Kevin said he went out with a surveyor to look at the culverts on Irish Road, and the southern culvert is about a foot lower than the northern one.  Kevin stated Scott Braley of Plymouth Engineering is going to look at them this week from an engineering standpoint.

 

WARRANT:  John Luce made a motion to accept the payroll warrant of January 21, 2020 in the amount of $5,075.73.  Doug Small seconded.  Five voted in favor.

WARRANT:  John Luce made a motion to accept the payroll warrant of January 27, 2020 in the amount of $4,349.49.  Doug Small seconded.  Five voted in favor.

WARRANT:  John Luce made a motion to accept the accounts payable warrant of January 27, 2020 in the amount of $54,364.21.  Doug Small seconded.  Five voted in favor.

 

ADJOURNMENT:  Douglas Small made a motion to adjourn.  Jared Fitts seconded. Five voted in favor.  Meeting adjourned at 8:45 pm.
