ROAD COMMISSIONER/TAX COLLECTOR/TOWN MANAGER REPORT:
- The Town Manager stated he had a pre-bid meeting with several contractors who are interested in bidding on this year’s paving and Cook Road work. Tom said the bids are due on May 7th.
- Tom Richmond said one of the contractors strongly recommended milling the Cook Road rather than grinding it, so Tom changed the bid specs to reflect that.
- Tom said Old State Road is ready for CPM Constructors to do their part, and they were supposed to start today but didn’t because of the rain.
- Tom reminded the Board that tax-acquired property bids are due next Monday.
NEW BUSINESS:
Road Program (2012): Tom said the State has verbally okayed the entrance to Old State Road.
Bangor Auto & Truck bill: There was discussion regarding a bill from Bangor Auto & Truck for work done on one of the tanks because it got a hole blown in the bottom while pressurized. Josh said his concern was there was no reason for the tank to be pressurized, but that is not the fault of Bangor Auto & Truck, and they should be paid for their work. Josh suggested having Fire Chief Mike Azevedo look into putting vehicle maintenance work out to bid.
Gazebo Damage: There was discussion regarding recent vandalism to the gazebo at the Rec Field, and Selectmen looked at pictures of the damage. Doug Small asked if the funds for repairing the damage would come out of recreation department funds. Tom said it would since it is located at the Rec Field.
