7:30 PM: Suzan Rudnicki called the meeting to order.
MINUTES: Voting on the minutes of September 24, 2012 was tabled as there were not enough Selectmen present who attended that meeting.
ROAD COMMISSIONER/TAX COLLECTOR/TOWN MANAGER REPORT:
- The Selectmen and the Town Manager discussed a letter from resident Ron Meservey regarding construction company trucks that had parked in his turnaround on Marcho Road when they were working on Etna’s end of the road.
- Tom said seven loads of white crushed granite were hauled into Highland Cemetery and put in some of the roadways.
- There was discussion regarding washouts on Hinckley Hill Road. Some have been fixed, but there are still more that need to be fixed.
- The Town Manager said we did some ditching on Cook Road last week.
CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER’S REPORT: Stewart Brooks said he is going to start reviewing junkyards by the end of the month.
NEW BUSINESS:
General Assistance (Ordinance Hearing): Suzan Rudnicki made a motion to set the annual General Assistance Ordinance Hearing for October 15th at 7:30 pm. Earlyn Bowers seconded. Three voted in favor.
2013 Budget (update): Tom Richmond stated Willie Dunton has been asking if we could get tool storage boxes that fit in the undercarriage on the town truck. Tom said they took about $500.00 worth of metal to Ideal Recycling, and asked to put approximately $200.00 with that to get the boxes. Selectmen had no objections.
Salt Shed Yard Damage: Tom let the Board know we did receive a check for $1,000.00 from CPM Constructors for damage done to the salt shed yard when they were using it.
Haskell Road Bridge: Tom said he has asked Plymouth Engineering to give us an estimate on engineering the Haskell Road Bridge because it is washing out underneath it. Tom stated he intends to contact Federal Fish & Wildlife Service to see if they can help with any costs. Selectmen agreed to find out what the engineering will cost and go from there.
Sales of Cemetery Lots: The Town Manager said if there is enough money from cemetery lot sales, he would like to do another expansion. Tom also said we have done about all the leveling we can do, and would like to add more crushed granite to the rest of the cemetery roads.
Treasurer’s Report: The Town Manager gave the Treasurer’s Report as of September 30, 2012.
WARRANT: Earlyn Bowers made a motion to accept the payroll warrant of October 1, 2012 in the amount of $4,058.45. Sue Rudnicki seconded. Three voted in favor.
WARRANT: Earlyn Bowers made a motion to accept the accounts payable warrant of October 1, 2012 in the amount of $47,444.54. Sue Rudnicki seconded. Three voted in favor.
