NEW BUSINESS:
Fire Department Update and Budget: Fire Chief Ryan Simpson was in to give an update on the Fire Department and to go over their budget. Ryan stated things are going well. They have made up a regular ambulance schedule, and haven’t missed any calls in the past month. There was discussion about a resident who is becoming a serious problem because they are continually calling the Fire Department and Sheriff’s Department, sometimes up to three times a day, with false alarms. Tom stated that he felt the spouse could prevent these calls, and said if it continues, he recommended the Selectmen establish a policy that would allow the Fire Department to charge for false alarms.
Ryan let the Board know the Fire Department is thinking about changing the point system a bit so that people who go on calls get more points than trainees. Selectmen had no objections.
Ryan gave a report on the current year’s ambulance income and expenses. The Selectmen, Town Manager and Fire Chief went over the proposed 2015 Fire and Rescue budget.
