Regular Meeting (02-24-2014)

Selectmen Present:                Suzan Rudnicki, Earlyn Bowers, John Luce, Douglas Small and Joseph Pelletier

7:30 PM: Suzan Rudnicki called the meeting to order.

MINUTES: Douglas Small made a motion to accept the minutes of February 10, 2014 as written. John Luce seconded. Five voted in favor.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

 

Tax-acquired Property Paid in Full: Tom explained that Robin Dyer’s taxes for 60 Hinckley Hill Road are paid in full, and her lawyer has requested the Board sign a quitclaim deed. John Luce made a motion to sign the quitclaim for Robin Dyer. Earlyn Bowers seconded. Five voted in favor.

 

Ad for Part-Time Office Trainee: Tom gave the Board a proposed advertisement for another part-time fill-in office clerk to be trained in case we need them. Suzan Rudnicki made a motion to allow Tom to put the ad for a part-time office clerk in the Bangor Daily News and the Rolling Thunder Express. Earlyn Bowers seconded. Five voted in favor.

 

ROAD COMMISSIONER/TAX COLLECTOR/TOWN MANAGER REPORT:

 

  1. Town Manager Tom Richmond said he is having F.C. Work & Sons deliver another five hundred yards of sand and he has also ordered two more loads of salt, to be sure we have enough to last the winter.

 

  1. Tom let the Board know he has looked at a vehicle to purchase after Town Meeting, and would like to send Julia and someone else to the auction on March 27th to bid on it, if Selectmen have no objections. Tom said there is a price tag on it of $4,500.00, and if no other towns are interested in it, we would get it for that price. If other towns are interested, they would have a silent auction on it. Selectmen had no objections.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

 

Town Meeting (update): The Town Manager went over his Town Meeting PowerPoint presentation with the Board.

 

Road Postings: John Luce asked if the roads have been posted yet, and said Cook Road has not been posted. Tom said he thought he had seen the posting when he went by, but he will check to make sure.

 

WARRANT: John Luce made a motion to accept the payroll warrant of February 18, 2014 in the amount of $3,018.99. Joe Pelletier seconded. Five voted in favor.

WARRANT: John Luce made a motion to accept the Full-time fireman’s payroll warrant of February 18, 2014 in the amount of $826.97. Joe Pelletier seconded. Five voted in favor.

WARRANT: John Luce made a motion to accept the payroll warrant of February 24, 2014 in the amount of $3,337.41. Joe Pelletier seconded. Five voted in favor.

WARRANT: John Luce made a motion to accept the Full-time fireman’s payroll warrant of February 24, 2014 in the amount of $826.97. Joe Pelletier seconded. Five voted in favor.

WARRANT: John Luce made a motion to accept the accounts payable warrant of February 24, 2014 in the amount of $12,455.59. Joe Pelletier seconded. Five voted in favor.

 

ADJOURNMENT: Suzan Rudnicki made a motion to adjourn. Earlyn Bowers seconded. Five voted in favor.
