Regular Meeting (11-17-2014)

Selectmen Present:                Suzan Rudnicki, Douglas Small and Earlyn Bowers

7:30 PM: Suzan Rudnicki called the meeting to order.

MINUTES: Voting on the minutes of October 27, 2014 was tabled as there were not enough board members present who attended that meeting.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

 

General Assistance Ordinance Hearing: Suzan Rudnicki opened the hearing. Suzan Rudnicki made a motion to accept the General Assistance Ordinance with changes to Apendices B and C for the year 2014 to 2015. Earlyn Bowers seconded. Three voted in favor.

 

ROAD COMMISSIONER/TAX COLLECTOR/TOWN MANAGER REPORT:

 

  1. The Town Manager gave the Treasurer’s Report as of October 31, 2014.

 

  1. Tom Richmond told the Board he has scheduled December 1, 2014 at 8:00 pm for the Fire Department disciplinary hearing as requested by an individual in the department.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

 

2015 Budget: Tom gave a copy of the preliminary budget to Selectmen, and said the Board has two weeks to finalize the budget before it is presented to the Budget Committee at their first meeting in December.

 

Bobby Noyes, Snowplowing Contract: Bobby Noyes stated he would continue with the current snowplowing contract with a 2½ % increase. Earlyn Bowers made a motion to give R&R Lumber the contract with a 2½ % increase for next year. Douglas Small seconded. Three voted in favor.

 

Code Enforcement Officer Position: Tom stated he has only received three applications for the code enforcement officer position, and only one of them has any qualifications or experience. Tom stated he would like to set up an interview with her. Selectmen had no objections.

 

EXECUTIVE SESSION: Suzan Rudnicki made a motion to go into executive session pursuant to 22MRSA §4305(3B) to discuss a General Assistance matter. Earlyn Bowers seconded. Three voted in favor. Selectmen went into executive session at 8:05 pm. Selectmen reconvened in regular session at 8:15 pm. No action taken, informational only.

 

WARRANT: Earlyn Bowers made a motion to accept the Full-time fireman’s payroll warrant of November 3, 2014 in the amount of $826.97. Doug Small seconded. Three voted in favor.

WARRANT: Earlyn Bowers made a motion to accept the payroll warrant of November 3, 2014 in the amount of $4,069.16. Doug Small seconded. Three voted in favor.

WARRANT: Earlyn Bowers made a motion to accept the accounts payable warrant of November 3, 2014 in the amount of $138,916.18. Doug Small seconded. Three voted in favor.

WARRANT: Earlyn Bowers made a motion to accept the Full-time fireman’s payroll warrant of November 10, 2014 in the amount of $826.97. Doug Small seconded. Three voted in favor.

WARRANT: Earlyn Bowers made a motion to accept the payroll warrant of November 10, 2014 in the amount of $3,849.63. Doug Small seconded. Three voted in favor.

WARRANT: Earlyn Bowers made a motion to accept the accounts payable warrant of November 10, 2014 in the amount of $14,459.14. Doug Small seconded. Three voted in favor.

WARRANT: Earlyn Bowers made a motion to accept the Full-time fireman’s payroll warrant of November 17, 2014 in the amount of $826.97. Doug Small seconded. Three voted in favor.

WARRANT: Earlyn Bowers made a motion to accept the payroll warrant of November 17, 2014 in the amount of $3,714.05. Doug Small seconded. Three voted in favor.

WARRANT: Earlyn Bowers made a motion to accept the accounts payable warrant of November 17, 2014 in the amount of $19,180.87. Doug Small seconded. Three voted in favor.

 

ADJOURNMENT: Earlyn Bowers made a motion to adjourn. Sue Rudnicki seconded. Three voted in favor. Meeting adjourned at 8:19 pm.
