Regular Meeting (05-05-2014)

7:43 PM: Suzan Rudnicki called the meeting to order.
MINUTES: Earlyn Bowers made a motion to accept the minutes of April 28, 2014 as amended. Douglas Small seconded. Four voted in favor.
ROAD COMMISSIONER/TAX COLLECTOR/TOWN MANAGER REPORT:
- The Town Manager stated that work began on the cemeteries this week. Flags are up and in place.
- The Town manager stated that he will begin working on “selective bids” for road repairs, with the boards consent. John Luce made a motion to accept the Town Managers suggestion to send out “selective bids” for town road repairs. Earlyn Bowers seconded, Four voted in favor. One abstained.
- Town Manager stated that the road posting signs will be removed as of Friday, May 9, 2014.
- The Town Manager stated that the crack sealing on the town roads will begin soon. Starting with the roads that need the least work and working into the roads that require more work.
- Town manager stated that he has asked for an estimate for the cost of repairing/raising the guardrail on the Horseback Road, that needs to be raised “ to 8”, as well as the Marco Road guardrail repair. The estimate he received was $5,525.00, which includes traffic control.
- The Town Manager spoke about a letter he had sent to Tom Gould regarding the Job Description.
Suzan Rudnicki had a question regarding Willie’s qualifications for driving the town work truck due to the weight of the trailer and need for Willie to have a CDL license.
Joseph Pelletier discussed Brewer and Capital ambulance routine/contracts. Tom stated that the board will have to address this at some point. In the meantime Tom will try to get information from Brewer and Capital ambulance.
CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER’S REPORT: Stewart Brooks was not at the meeting.
WARRANT: Joseph Pelletier made a motion to accept the payroll warrant of May 5, 2014 in the amount of $4,234.07, Earlyn Bowers seconded. Four voted in favor. One abtained.
WARRANT: Joseph Pelletier made a motion to accept the Full-time fireman’s payroll warrant of May 5, 2014 in the amount of $826.97. Earlyn Bowers seconded. Four voted in favor. One abstained.
WARRANT: Joseph Pelletier made a motion to accept the payroll warrant of May 5, 2014 in the amount of $134,381.33. Earlyn Bowers seconded. Four voted in favor. One abstained.
